are braces the way to go?
'You'll be surprised how far braces have come along over the years. They aren't the same bulky ones you see on old shows anymore."
Metal Braces Modern metal braces are sleeker, smaller, and more comfortable than ever before. Many teens choose to personalize and add some fun to their braces with color bands. Change the color bands to fit your current style or mood. Simply choose your colors at each orthodontic visit, every 4 to 6 weeks. Which colors you pick and how you arrange them are completely up to you.
Traditional metal braces still remain a popular choice among teenagers but many are still confused on how they work! With metal braces, the orthodontist places a metal bracket on each tooth, attaching them each with a metal wire. Metal braces provide slight pressure on the teeth, moving them and even bones into better alignment. Metal braces work exceptionally well to correct even the most difficult cases, especially in treating malocclusion's or bite issues.
Ceramic Clear Braces For teens who prefer braces but not so much the look, clear braces are the way to go. Ceramic braces work like metal braces and get very similar results. Instead of metal, the orthodontist puts ceramic brackets on the teeth. At a glance, your friends may not even know that you are wearing braces since the color blends right in with your teeth.
Now you can have the benefits of braces without the look of them.
INVISALIGN TEEN IS FOR THE RESPONSIBLE TEEN
Invisalign teen works great! But only if you use them properly, don't lose them and keep a good oral hygiene.
Invisalign has grown in popularity among teens. Invisalign Teen includes sets of plastic retainer-like aligners that you pop into your mouth every two weeks. This means fewer trips to the orthodontist for you (typically once every six weeks) an added bonus for the busy teen.
Unlike traditional metal braces, with Invisalign Teen Aligners, you can still eat and drink as you would without them. To clean them, you just easily remove them and follow the instructions given by your orthodontist. Brush and floss normally.
EAT WHAT YOU WANT!
Teenagers find Invisalign Teen Aligners more comfortable than traditional metal braces because you don’t have the discomfort of metal wires or brackets causing abrasions in your mouth.
Invisalign Teen Aligners do require more responsibility than traditional braces. You must take care not to lose them, remember to move up to the next aligner at the scheduled time and you must wear them for most of the day usually from 22 to 24 hours per day.
Invisalign Teen Aligners work best for teenagers with less severe orthodontic cases. We will discuss this option individually with you at your consultation.
